Should I buy a different rod for jigging?

From watching people on the pier it looks like most have a speical longer rod for jigging. Should I buy or just use my normal rods?

alot of those "serious" jiggers use 15 foots rods IMHO i think its overkill on the person jigging and there wallet. a 9 to 10 foot rod is fine. try gotcha plugs on just a regular plugging rod, you may catch less spanish then the jiggers do but you wont have to messure them to see if there legal when you do catch one

Jigging just isn't for me, doesn't seem like real fishing. Many of buddies do and they use both jigging poles and the same type of setup I use.
