    Surfside Pier fishing report 3/3/11

Well the year has not kicked off with much of a bang yet. there is plenty of dogfish to be had useing chunks of cut mullet on a fish finder or carolina rig. the whiting have not yet shown up yet on the pier, it will probably be another 3 or 4 weeks before we start seeing any. if you have youngins that are itchin to get out and fish i highly suggest taking them out for the dogfish they will get a kick out of them. i will report back once we start seeing some more fish.

a dogfish is in the shark and ray family, it looks like a shark but has no teeth. they do have a spin close to their tail fin though, and if you get stuck with it, it can become infected.
