Silly question but does rain affect saltwater fishing like it does in the stream?

I grew up fishing trout and always found a need to change things up when fishing in the rain. Does it matter when you're fishing from the pier on surf?

Any change in climate, lighting, etc can change how the fish feed. I don't it's the rain as much as the overall change. You just have to find what is working at the time.
