From watching people on the pier it looks like most have a speical longer rod for jigging. Should I buy or just use my normal rods?

alot of those "serious" jiggers use 15 foots rods IMHO i think its overkill on the person jigging and there wallet. a 9 to 10 foot rod is fine. try gotcha plugs on just a regular plugging rod, you may catch less spanish then the jiggers do but you wont have to messure them to see if there legal when you do catch one:biggrin1:Quote:

Jigging just isn't for me, doesn't seem like real fishing. Many of buddies do and they use both jigging poles and the same type of setup I use.
