MyrtleTalk had a chance to go down and visit the SkyWheel construction site and take pictures of the progress. We will have more coming as the project moves forward.

That area is going to explode soon if they can keep adding things to bring people back into that Pavilion area. I wonder if it will hurt business at Broadway at the beach?

They keep talking about the VIP gondolas but I haven't seen it mentioned how long they will stay up, surely it will be longer than the average ride?

Based on the pictures it looks like the the wheel will turn toward the ocean is that right or will it be turn north and south?

The SkyWheel will be open in May and we are so excited about it! This attraction is unique to the Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas, so is only going to add to the many, many reasons to vacation and play in Myrtle Beach. SkyWheel you got me excited now. How long does it have to stop to let people on and off and does it turn a few times and then stop or does it stop a lot more frequently?

SkyWheel Myrtle Beach

The SkyWheel will load 6 gondolas at a time and then the flight will be for 3 revolutions for a total of 8-12 minutes depending on how much loading/unloading needs to be done during your flight. As of TODAY, SkyWheel components are being moved onsite! Some assembly will be happening at ground level over the next few days and then the middle of next week, you will start to see the A-frame being erected! That is when it will be much easier to get a perspective on how high this is really going to be...and that will only be halfway up to the eventual top!

At the top you will be 200ft above the Atlantic Ocean and be able to see for miles and miles in all directions! We are still working on all of our promotional pricing options.
